Long Horn Cattle (order # 07-03)

This art print is from our historical calendar "Signs of Texas."

 $15 matted (11" x 14")

 $50 framed (14" x 17")

Longhorns are hardy descendants of cattle brought to Texas by Spanish explorers in the 1500s.  By the end of the Civil War, vast herds of longhorns roamed South Texas.  After the war, enterprising Texans , faced with a bankrupt Texas economy, gathered stray longhorns and drove them from Texas to railheads in Kansas.
