Cave Paintings (order # 07-01)

from our historical calendar "Signs of Texas"

$15 matted (11"x14")

$50 framed (14"x17")

Well-preserved rock art painted about 6,000 years ago in West Texas caves gives us clues about the life of Texas' first residents.  These people decorated their cave homes with animals, reptiles, birds, and symbols of their religion. Because West Texas is so arid and so sparsely populated, many of these beautiful rock paintings have been preserved in caves along the Pecos River and Devils River.
